Inside Boston’s North Shore
Welcome to the North Shore of Boston, a special corner of Massachusetts
If you’re visiting the North Shore of Boston, there are a few things you should know.
The North Shore is justifiably famous for its shoreline, which includes sweeping beaches, rocky chasms, windswept headlands and peaceful marshes.
It is equally famous for its historic towns, from Marblehead to Gloucester to Newburyport, and small villages like Rockport, Manchester-by-the-Sea, and Topsfield. You can add to that list numerous cultural treasures and numerous ‘just for fun’ attractions like whale watching cruises and Salem's Witch Museum.
Now that you’ve found Off Course, you can look forward to discovering new and adventurous ways to enjoy our special corner of Massachusetts. We are continually looking for opportunities to get outdoors, find that special local café, or share an experience off the beaten path.
Fun Fact: Towns included on list of North Shore communities differ, depending on the source. For Off Course’s purposes, we’ve stuck with towns ‘on the water’, whether it’s an estuary, river, Salem Sound or the wide-open Atlantic.
