Beaches, Beverly

Beverly’s Lynch Park is part beach, part park and all family fun

TOWN:Beverly
WHAT:The center of Beverly summer activities, Lynch Park is a seaside gem
WHY:There is fun for all ages to be found here, from a formal garden to a serviceable beach to a kid's spray pool and playground

Here’s a beach option that is a bit unexpected for North Shore visitors: Lynch Park in Beverly. Located in the beautiful Cove neighborhood in Beverly just off of Route 127, Lynch Park’s grounds include an attractive variety of features including expansive playing fields, a beach volleyball court, shady lawns, a kids spray pool and playground, an outdoor performance stage, beautiful formal gardens and yes, a beach, too.

The combination makes Lynch Park a perfect destination if your party includes children.

The beach is not huge: it’s backed by a sea wall and is size-constrained at high tide, but it provides a pleasant place to take a dip and stretch out on the sand, and views across Salem Sound are beautiful.

What Lynch Park gives up in beach size is more than compensated for by it’s airy, shaded lawns, perfect for setting up beach chairs and enjoying a picnic. Kids will enjoy the run-around space and play structures, and for those looking for a quiet spot to read a book, the formal garden provides tranquility and beauty in equal measure.

Visiting Lynch Park

The park has a large parking lot, but as is the case during the summer at all beaches on the North Shore, it’s advisable to get there early on weekends. Weekdays are less pressured. Parking rates for non-residents are $15 on weekdays and $25 on weekends. Be aware that umbrellas, tents, boogie boards and grills are not welcome at the Park.
